Macys East - Regional Manager
Description: The Regional Merchandise Manager's primary objective is to drive sales. The responsibilities include ensuring superior execution of business directions through effective communication with store partners, central merchants and planning. The RMM is a key partner in driving sales increases through coaching of Group Sales Managers (GMS's) in Associate performance measures including Items per Transactions and Average Sales. The RMM will be the primary source for the proper merchandising techniques. The RMM will work in conjunction with planning to procure the correct merchandise content by store to drive sales.
Key Accountabilities
Communication and Merchandising
Ensure superior execution of merchandising direction at each location. Communicate problems of execution to storeline executives and assist in creating an improvement plan.
Establish consistent high standards across assigned store, both front and back of house; focus on merchandising and selling current owned stock to increase volume and profitability.
Develop actionable plans to drive on opportunities related to key items, volume drivers, clearance and fashion items.
Ensure appropriate interpretation of zonograms to actual store space allocation.
Review store visit findings with store management and provide a written recap of time and action points. Communication central issues systemically and promptly (stock needs, product needs, matrix issues).
Shop the competition and communicate competitive issues to the central merchant organization.
Plan promotional execution for key events such as One Day Sales, Christmas, Back to School, Mother's Day and Father's Day.Service and Selling Capabilities:
Support all efforts to improve service and selling capability at the store level.
Coordinate vendor sponsored and conducted training seminars.
Coordinate product knowledge training.
Requirements: Planning and Analysis:
Based on store visits and/or trouble shooting based on exception reports, drive sales by developing action plans to resolve merchandise sale/stock penetration opportunities and follow up with planning partners to ensure timely resolution.
Effective articulation of the region's and individual store's profiles, current status, business opportunities, problems and solutions. Mastery of content of each location's merchandise penetration by FOB.
Analyze and strategize store space productivity, Recommend floor moves to maximize opportunities. Facilitate floor move proposals for approval to central merchant organization.Skills SummaryMacy's is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
