Product Line Manager/Designer (Stationery) - NY

Key responsibilities: •Responsible for developing and creating new stationery concepts and products not yet in the marketplace to enhance the brand and grow the product line •Research stationery trends including paper, components, packaging, printing options, styles, etc. •Source high quality paper and printing of products to ensure consistency and quality •Coordinate product calendar and produce according to release dates •Responsible for the preparation and release of approved stationery files to vendors •Utilize Pantone matching systems and four color process to ensure paper products match fabric •Create and modify CAD textile designs tailored to Stationery including the preparation of specifications •Communicate with textile designers and vendors to ensure materials prepared are issued in proper format •Review manufacturer’s strike offs against submitted CAD work and provide comment along with PD director and/or Design Manager •Provide illustrations of new products for line lists, technical renderings and presentation boards •Participate in evaluation of all product line concepts along with other product development team members
Requirements: •High school graduate. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, graphic design or equivalent experience •3-5 years experience in design •Experience designing stationery and paper products including familiarity with printing •Strong PC skills including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Illustrator •Knowledge of CAD textile design software a plus •Ability to create product specs, templates and mock-ups of stationery products for approval process •Proven ability to manage, coach and develop others •Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously •Excellent organization and follow through skills, presentation and time management skills •Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills •Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact and resourcefulness •Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced office environment •Strong team player
