The store provides a diverse mix of one-of-a-kind women’s apparel, jewelry and accessories not found in department stores. It also maintains the “exclusivity” of the customer’s purchase by limiting restocking of its merchandise and offering only one of each size per style. Personal touches include special ordering, a “Wish List” gift registry, a Birthday Club, gift certificates, layaway, and free gift boxes and gift packaging. The store is known for exceptional service as well as its honesty in helping customers select merchandise. To allow parents to shop with fewer distractions, the store provides child diversionary activities such as puzzles and games. The business' philanthropy and advocacy towards the community is widely recognized and appreciated and is rewarded by customer respect and loyalty.
It is located in a prime, highly visible, easily accessible retail center in Olney, MD; a community ranked 17th out 100 in "America's Best Places to Live" edition of Money Magazine in 2007. It has a valid and active mailing list of 5000+ customers and adds about 100 new customers a month. Clientele are Women 35 to 65. Advertising consists of the Washington Post and The Gazette, word of mouth, rotation of store window displays, prime visibility on a main thoroughfare and the mix of stores in the center that draw people in (i.e. Starbucks, Blockbuster, CVS, Ritz Camera, etc.). It has exclusive rights to popular apparel lines such as Tribal, Lynn Ritchie, Cartise, Alberto Makali, Sno Skins, Boho Chic, Two Star Dog, JAG, Not Your Daughter's Jeans and many more. It also has carried and has exclusive rights to sell the Brighton line of leather goods, jewelry and home accessories for the past 12 years. The Brighton line alone generated about $152,000 in sales in 2007.
